Dave was born and raised on the southside of Chicago. He was a 2000 graduate of De La Salle Institute, Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2004 with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a focus in commercial real estate. After a career as Vice President in the commercial real estate valuation and consulting group with Duff and Phelps, LLC, Dave left in 2012 to join the family business.

He went back to school and attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science.  Graduating in May 2014, he became the fourth funeral director in his family; following in the footsteps of his father, uncle, and cousin. Dave has remained active in his community. He is Past President of the Northeastern Illinois Funeral Directors Association, Past President and Past Secretary of the Lions Club of Antioch, 1^st Degree Knights of Columbus Council #3800 St. Peter Catholic Church, Antioch, Past Secretary of the Alumni Association and past member of the real estate and buildings advisory committee at De La Salle Institute. Dave currently lives near the family funeral home, Strang Funeral Home in Antioch, IL, with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children, Conor, June and Clare.
